What A Deal! Why Is Your Travel Insurance So Cheap?

Sorry to use the concept old adage "you get what you pay for", but like many people have discovered to their detriment, which is especially true when it comes to travel insurance. It is very easy to take the first policy that in lieu of having to sift through policy details and comparisons to understand exactly what you get. Try to work in the jargon of insurance is almost as fun as a level of advanced puzzle, with lots of blue sky.

It has become a way of life of the pale, sun-deprived Brits Sun desperate walk in the rain to your travel agent and book a vacation package. Why not? After all, the sun provides a healthy dose of vitamin D, and everyone knows that vitamins are good for you! (But do not forget to take advantage of the sun to help prevent skin cancer).

Many travel agents and tour operators to try to sell you travel insurance at the same time the holidays, or pull free insurance or "little" one. How many people cross the glossy brochures filled with bronzed bodies lying on the sunny beaches with palm trees, surrounded by reading the fine print of insurance? At this point, you are mentally and in your swimsuit and soak in hot water and blue sky.

Travel insurance is often advertised by banks, credit card companies, pharmacies, supermarkets, bus companies, airlines, shops and post office. On the surface it may seem sufficient, but open the box and look inside a little deeper. Compare the coverage levels that provide a general policy against it, and you will see that the pieces may be missing. They are often vital corner pieces too! For example, you can find, no cover for lost luggage, or coverage only extends to the trips organized by your travel agent or representative.

Once you arrive at your destination, so you can not examine the consequences of the use of a local water park for fun on the slides, a tourist bus trip, or a ride on an elephant? When the spirit of carefree holiday, which in its grip, the more likely it is to do all sorts of activities on a whim. What if you had an injury to the water park, the coach crashed or fell off the elephant? It would be a very unpleasant surprise, and perhaps an unfortunate end for a holiday to discover too late that the travel agency which sold insurance only covered the activities that were organized by local transport. That put the lid on the feast of the puzzle and you'll be hard pressed to pick up the pieces and pay the bills!

Travel insurance should not be expensive, so it is important to make sure that you get the coverage that suits your needs. It is a waste of money to hire more insurance than necessary. If you only plan on traveling in France a year ago, in a single trip policy for you. If you're planning a short trip to Spain and then white at the end of the week you want to save money by purchasing multi-trip policy, and adding more coverage of skiing and winter sports. In case of pre-existing medical conditions need to be declared, and may cost a little 'more, but it is better to be totally honest, and make sure they belong, if there are problems. If you make a claim and it becomes obvious that you have not been honest in every part of the question, all the health claims could be empty!

The next time you're at your office involved in the excitement of travel agencies booking the trip, not lulled into a false sense of security. One might think that it is easier to take care of holiday and insurance all at once. This allows you to forget the boring parts, and continue shopping and packing for your vacation. Instead, offer to give free time to reflect on the question of insurance, get quotes from insurance companies to make reliable comparisons. For example, whether the smoke free policy includes personal liability and legal expenses. Often they do!

This issue is no longer an issue after January 1, 2009. Public finance watchdog, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), will therefore be necessary that the company sells travel insurance to be regulated by the FSA. In the meantime, beware. Banks may be the FSA rules, provided that their banking business, but until the new legislation will come into force are not required to comply with the FSA to sell insurance! Stand-alone travel insurance company is regulated and there is a benefit to the ombudsman if their services are in any way.

Like a puzzle, your dream vacation includes everything you see in the picture on the box. If there are missing parts, or it falls all apart, you must have a good travel insurance, and someone to ask for help. Do not risk damaging your holiday and laments: "Now I know why you were so cheap!"
